Our Statement of Faith
We believe:

in one God, creator of heaven and earth

that God is a trinity of three persons; Father, Son and Holy Spirit

that the Bible is the inspired Word of God to be trusted as our supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct

that in sending his one and only Son, Jesus Christ, God has extended his love and grace to the people of this world.

that Jesus Christ is the Eternal Son of God. He was born to the virgin Mary having been conceived by the Holy Spirit. He lived a perfect life and was put to death on the cross. He rose from the dead and ascended into heaven. He will come again in power and glory to complete His kingdom

that all people fall short of God’s standard for their lives and are therefore under God’s condemnation, but that by his death on the cross Jesus Christ took the punishment for our sin

that as we accept Jesus Christ as our Saviour and Lord, we receive God’s forgiveness, eternal life and the presence of the Holy Spirit in our lives.Â

that our local church is part of the worldwide family of God, of which Christ is the head. As part of this family we are committed to the proclamation of the Gospel throughout the world.
Our Leadership Team
We are a team of dedicated elders and leaders committed to the spiritual growth and wellbeing of our church family.
Stephen Harrison
Pastor & Elder
Stephen is our Pastor and a dedicated leader with a focus on spiritual growth and discipleship. He is married to Sharon and has two sons and four grandchildren.
Shingirayi Kapfunde
Elder
Shingirayi is a Forensic Psychiatric Nurse. He is married to Emillia, who works for General Electric Grid Solutions. He is a dedicated elder committed to the wellbeing of our church family.
Andrew Cook
Chair of Elders
Andrew is a teacher by profession and now a civil servant. He is married to Trace, who works as the church centre manager.
Jeanne Morris
Elder
Jeanne has been an Elder since 2016. She works as the Stafford Street Pastor Coordinator and is married to William.
Alan Medway
Secretary & Safeguarding Officer
Alan has been at Church Lane since 1984. He serves as the Church Secretary and Safeguarding Officer. He is married to Jacky and shares their home with two greyhounds.
Andy Summers
Elder & Treasurer
Andy is a Computer Software Developer. He is married to Liz, our Church Treasurer. He is also the treasurer of the local charity The Youth Net. He is a dedicated steward of our church finances.

Church membership is a way to identify with Church Lane as your spiritual home. If you are a committed Christian and regularly worship with us, we invite you to become part of our growing family.
How to Become a Member
- Identify with our statement of faith.
- Speak with the Pastor or an elder.
- Meet with two elders to discuss membership.
- Be officially welcomed at a Sunday service.
Offering
Give during our Sunday services. A collection box is available at the front of the church for all members and friends to contribute.
Supporting Our Mission
We invite you to give in any way that feels right to you, helping us continue our work of discovering, following, and sharing Jesus.
Standing Order
Our preferred method is standing order. Email treasurer@clec.org.uk for bank details to set up a regular monthly donation.
Gift Aid
As a UK taxpayer, you can claim 25p of tax back for every £1 you donate. Complete the declaration in our giving leaflet.
